Five new cyber apprentices are due to start their two year placements in HMRC, DWP and Cabinet Office shortly. There’s an ongoing demand within the public sector for technical specialists in this area and the recent Security Profession survey showed that the average age of a security professional in Government was over 50! So it’s clear that we do need to grow new talent to face the future security challenges of delivering services in a more digital world.
If you’re interested in what it’s like to be a cyber apprentice in Government then check back to this blog regularly as we will be asking some of our new apprentices to blog about their early experiences shortly.
